Algorithm for Acute Lower GI Bleeding

1. Supine and upright abdominal radiographs to exclude bowel perforation
2. Tc-99m labelled red blood cell scintigraphy (Dynamic GI bleeding scan) in patients with active GI bleeding
3. Visceral angiography if the dynamic GI bleeding scan is positive and patient is actively bleeding
