Algorithm for Hepatic Injury

1. Exploratory laparotomy in hemodynamically unstable patients.
2. Contrast-enhanced abdominal and pelvic CT in stable patients.
3. Hepatic arteriogram in suspected hepatic arterial injuries (persistent hemorrhage or pseudoaneurysm on CT) with possible arterial embolization.
4. Abdominal CT or ultrasound for follow-up of hepatic injuries treated conservatively or for evaluating post-operative complications.
