Algorithm for Biloma

1. Supine and upright abdominal plain radiographs to exclude bowel obstruction
2. Tc-99m-IDA scintigraphy (HIDA scan) to diagnose an active bile leak
3. Follow-up IDA scintigraphy or abdominal ultrasound to follow the quantity of biliary leakage
4. Percutaneous or retrograde (ERCP) biliary stenting if bile leak persists
5. In abscence of an active bile leak, consider an abdominal ultrasound or CT scan to exclude a perihepatic abscess
