  • Reduced perfusion to the temporal and the inferior parietal cortex bilaterally.
  • Symmetric uptake in the basal ganglia and thalami.
  • Differential diagnosis

    1. Alzheimer's disease *
    2. Parkinson's disease with dementia

      * If Parkinson's disease can be excluded, the probability of Alzheimer's disease is greater than 90% with this pattern. Most often, the parietal lobes are more involved than in this case.
